I tried posting on the MS support forum but had no luck and wondered if anyone here has been able to fix it I have run FSX (Flight Simulator X) on my old Windows 7 machine for several years but have now upgraded to a new Windows 8 PC. However, when I try installing FSX from the disk, it gets to the end of the installation, generates a 1722 error code, rolls back the installation and displays a 1603 error. I have tried on both machines and running the installation in several compatibility modes but I keep getting the same issue. I tried to copy the installation from my old PC to my new one but the game wouldn't load. Is there anything else I can do?

I am using windows 8 64 bit and have FS9 and FSX GOLD Edition installed with no problems. To make matters worse depending upon which windows 8 compatibility link you happen to run across One states that the Standard version of FSX is not compatible Which is what I ran across when I tried to install the standard version of FSX. But I have since than discovered a different link that states the standard version will work. The bottom line is If you can not get the standard version to work than you will have to do what I did and buy the Gold version.

I am at a complete loss now as which is correct. I do not know if there was a update that allows the standard version to run now or if some people are just either getting lucky or changing the standard version to get it to run for them.

I originally had herd that a DLL file was the reason the standard version would not run But like I said I give up. Some other member here told me i was incorrect telling others that the standard version would not work in Windows 8 64 bit as they had it working on there system. Lots of luck sorting it out.

Unfortunately 'Rollbacks' and 'Uninstalls' do not always remove everything. Do a system search for both 'FSX' and 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X'. I don't know where Win 8 regedit.exe resides, or if it even exists. Find it, open it. BEFORE doing anything else.File/Export.

Once safely backed up, Edit/Find.' FSX' and delete all the references you find. F3 is Find Next and will help speed the process. Do the same for 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X'. Once the registry has no, none, nada, zero, references to FSX, then try installing as administrator in your custom location. Kana Kanum Kalangal Theme Song Free Download. Don. Solution - Error 1722 and 1603 FSX Gold Edition - Windows 8 On 13 march 2013 I requested help in order to install FSX in Windows 7 or Widnows 8 because both systems where giving me errors 1722 and 1603. I seached the forum since and could not get a solution until yesterday. I even intalled FS2004 so I could go on VATSIM.

I found a solution on Flightsim Microsoft Community. Here is the solution that worked for me. Hyasuda replied on January 28, 2013 I had the same problem. But I resolved it as follows; 1. Refresh PC (it took one hour and 45 minutes to finish) To refresh your PC Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.) Under PC settings, tap or click General. Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started.

Follow the instructions on the screen. The only drawback if you use this solution, is that you will have to re-install all your applications. This solution brings back your Windows 8 to a fresh install mode and corrects any problems. However it does allow you to install FSX. After running Refresh you PC, I ran MicrosoftKB928080 solution, remember to run the Cmd prompt as administrator for it to work. I immediately installed FSX and it worked flawlestly.

Apparently the link to MicrosoftKB928080 has been removed, it apparently broke other applications, if it is so search for 'msicuu2' From what I understand, is that PC vendors do not use the original disk to install windows 8, instead they use a master machine. I noticed that my Windows 8 disk was still sealed in the box. This causes error in installation of some systems. Hope this can help somebody.
