The sticker at the back of my notebook shows that the.iso copy of my OS is X16-96076. Such.iso is not available on.

For forgetting option 4. Find the install media from another source. Any windows 7 disk for your edition will do. You can get one from a friend, a shop, or an alternate source on the internet. You just have be sure that it's an unaltered copy. That's the tricky part.
If you have the original key, you can d/l from here: and burn to a blank disk. You'll have to do everything manually: enter the key, d/l and install all drivers (go to the support section at Dell.com, type in your service tag and select the drivers for Win 7 x64) and all your programs and other stuff. They want you to make a system recovery disk. I forgot to do that. This thing takes a few mins to load internet explorer. I know it is an I 3 ultrabook, but it is not that slow. As to what happened, it is running slow as heck, i think it needs a wipe. Like I said before I have a key on the back of the laptop itself, but no disc. This is the last dell I will buy, of course I build my own desktops so I will actually have a windows DVD.
Sadly my desktop, had Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and this has a cheapo version. As to why, like i said I do not havea disc, but unlike stand alone copies of windows where the copy is on the box, this computer has it on the back of it's case. I do not know where the disc is, I do not belive I eer got one as I still have the drivers and applications discs. Dell will not send a replacement as it is past warranty, Microsoft at the download site will not let me download because the copy is OEM.

Oh for cryin' out loud. The WHY doesn't matter. He has the OEM key label that's somewhere on the underside of the machine or inside the battery bay. Heck, MY dell didn't come with a disk and when i wanted to swap from HDD to SSD, i just grabbed another Win7 dvd from two years ago and used the Dell key to install it. Why in the heck is everyone here giving this guy the 3rd degree?
Just download it from some P2P. You have the key, that's the important part. The 'why' DOES matter. If the drive is still functional, simply create the Dell factory reset disk set.
If the drive is NOT still functional.then other methods need to be investigated. Oh for cryin' out loud. The WHY doesn't matter. He has the OEM key label that's somewhere on the underside of the machine or inside the battery bay.

Both questions matter. Maybe the issue can be repaired without a reinstall. That should probably be explored. Its also a good idea to have the disk, in the event it does need a reinstall, now or in the future. Download Office 2010 Service Pack 2 Msp.
